Grundwortschatz (The Most Common German Words)
A few hundred words cover most of everyday German. This page lists the ones you will hear most often: question words and little words, key verbs, nouns for people, time, home and town, and the most common adjectives. Nouns come with their article and plural, and every word has an example sentence.
Reading the nouns
Nouns are given with their article and plural: der Tag, die Tage. German has three genders, so learn every noun with der, die or das; see Genus.
